We take on a limited number of year-end only clients at certain times of the year. If you are looking for support with annual accounts, corporation tax or year-end compliance only, please get in touch. We will confirm whether we can help and give you an indication of the fees based on your circumstances.

Sarah Sallis ACMA CGMA FMAAT

Director & Chartered Management Accountant

Meet Sarah, I’m a Chartered Management Accountant and founder of The Accountancy Office. I started the business to provide something different from traditional accountancy firms, a more hands-on, proactive approach that actually helps business owners understand and manage their finances properly. My background includes working across a range of industries, managing everything from small business finances through to multi-million-pound budgets in the UK and overseas. Today, I focus on helping business owners move from uncertainty around their numbers to clarity, structure and confidence in how their business is performing. Currently tackling walking throughout the UK. Including the latest mountain conquered, Pen Y Fan, with my daughter Charlotte. Not to mention being allowed to care for Tilly our cat.

Lisa Handford

Admin and Accounts Assistant

Having decided on a career change into accounting, Lisa passed her AAT Accounting Level 2 exams in 2019. Lisa is a certified Xero adviser and is enjoying her new career path. Lisa manages our clients’ day to day record keeping and payroll. Lisa also looks after welcoming and onboarding our new clients. At home, Lisa has her husband Michael, three dogs and two cats, who all keep her busy.

Sally Roughton

Office Administrator

I am originally from Birmingham, I have had a varied career background, from Veterinary Nursing, Financial Services and finally as a Business Support Manager for a food manufacturing company. I moved to Evesham in 2019, just prior to lock down and worked full time as a self-employed video editor. The business now runs part-time which fits in perfectly around my job here at AO. I am a member of two book clubs and a walking group locally. I love to walk my dog and look after my garden, although my attempts to grow vegetables tends to be a battle as to who can eat them first - me or the slugs.

Louise Smith

Client Manager

I'm a Client Manager and Accountant with a passion for helping clients grow and succeed. I enjoy finding smarter, more efficient ways of working and building strong relationships with the people I support. Outside of work, I love swimming and spending quality time with my family.

Mark Allen FCMA CGMA ACMI AIC

Mark has built, developed and sold several multi-million-pound businesses and is a key member of our team. Mark uses his skills and experience in complex tax advice, financial services, business growth consultancy, corporate finance, insolvency and legal advice to provide our clients with an exceptional standard of service at competitive rates. Working with our team of world-class specialists serving over 100 UK SME businesses, Mark’s experience and knowledge are invaluable to any business. His leisure time is split between family, charity work and avidly following sports, in particular his beloved Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Gavin Johnson CFP

Financial Planning Consultant

Gavin is an experienced independent Chartered Financial Planner who has been providing advice to clients since 2000. Attention to detail, good listening skills and great empathy are some of the most common traits highlighted by his clients. He has spent the vast majority of his career specialising in advising business owners, and high net worth individuals. Gavin has extensive experience and detailed technical knowledge in advising clients across all areas of retirement planning, tax planning, investments, estate & inheritance tax planning and personal/business protection.

David Logan CTA ATT

Principal Tax Consultant

David of TAG Tax heads up our tax technical team consisting of over 25 tax consultants. He is a Chartered Tax Adviser with over 25 years of wide ranging experience. He spent over 14 years with a Big 4 firm specialising in corporate tax, dealing with both national and international companies and groups. David also spent 3 years with a mid-tier firm heading up a tax team in a regional office dealing with both corporate and personal tax matters for owner-managed businesses. This enabled him to gain valuable experience in managing Director/Shareholder issues for owner-managed businesses.

Chris Hewitt

Mortgage Specialist

Chris started his career in financial services in 1995 providing advice to clients and companies in the pension, investment and protection arena for the Prudential before moving to John Charcol as a Senior Consultant / Mortgage Broker, predominantly dealing with High Net Worth Individuals and assisting with complex prime and larger Buy to Let Portfolios. In 2004 Chris was approached to head up the Birmingham office of Savills Private Finance overseeing a team of consultants as well as advising on complicated transactions and high net worth clients directly, being promoted to Associate Director and winning several awards along with his office. After a spell as a founding broker with Capital Private Finance, starting in 2010, which became one of the premier brokerages in London, Chris established his own brokerage CAPC and set up TAG Mortgages in 2018 to provide a branded solution for the network and our clients.

The Accountancy Office Story

Founded in 2009 by Sarah Sallis, The Accountancy office began as a vision to create a more personal and flexible approach to accounting. With an industry background and after years of working in various finance roles for other businesses, after earning her AAT qualification and Chartered Management Accountant status, Sarah wanted to strike a better balance between her career and family life, especially after welcoming her first child.

Starting from scratch in a spare bedroom, Sarah quickly realised the need for a more personal touch in the accounting world. She had experienced the impersonal nature of large firms and wanted to offer something different – a friendly, approachable service that truly understands the unique needs of Worcestershire’s businesses.

As word spread about the quality of service and the genuine care we provide, the firm grew. Today, we are proud to be a small team of four passionate women, dedicated to serving clients from all over Worcestershire. With over 30 years of combined experience, we are here to make accounting simple and stress-free, allowing you to focus on what you love.

Sarah, Lisa and Rachel are just fantastic. Nothing is too much trouble and as a new business they have literally been life savers. Sarah even helped me reclaim tax after going self employed which literally kept my family going for a month or two. I couldn’t recommend these people enough.
